Surya Bahadur Thapa stresses on unity among political forces

KATHMANDU, Feb 21 - Former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa has stressed on unity among all political forces to resolve the crisis in the country.
In a statement issued Monday, Thapa said: ?The country at this moment needs unity, consensus and understanding among all constitutional forces.?

Thapa?s public statement comes 21 days after the Royal proclamation of Feb. 1. Thapa was freed from a 14-day house arrest earlier last week.

Meanwhile, RPP members have urged the party leadership to call for a Central Committee meeting to discuss the current political situation.

RPP?s Vice Chairman Padma Sunder Lawati, along with other half-a-dozen members, asked Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana on Monday to call for a meeting to make public the party?s remarks on the King?s move. (snn)
