The political spectrum can be broadly divided into three categories. The extreme left and the extreme right are detrimental for democracy, freedom and human rights. The mild center represents the majority of general people. But Nepal has recently been plagued by ideologies of the extreme opposite poles.
The Maoists, who represent the extreme left and the seemingly autocratic king, who represents the extreme right, are currently the two strongest players in the Nepali political playground. The political parties, who are supposed to be centrists, have contributed for dwindling of their dignity by encouraging corruption and mudslinging each other during the past fifteen years. The left and right have so successfully occupied the space that the parties now find themselves trapped in the narrow middle.
How do you think the current political stalemate in Nepal can be overcome? Is it by reconciliation of the three forces and bringing the extreme poles near to the center? Or is it by allowing the left and the right fight until the center is completely crushed in the middle?
P.S. Majority of general people are always in the central spectrum.
