Is Tulsi Giri now a liability for King Gyanedra? Will the King defend his loyal supporter or dump him? Is Tulsi Giri helping or hurting King Gyanedra?
My take: Giri, as smart a politician as he is, has lost this game to the press and is on his way out. Who else will he take with him is the 2-million-rupee question.

Dr Giri yet to settle Yak & Yeti dues
POST REPORT
KATHMANDU, June 14 - Even as Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Dr Tulsi Giri, refuses to take any moral or legal responsibility on the loan-default case, the Post has received reliable information that he hasn't settled his bills at the Yak & Yeti Hotel where he stayed for 25 days about four months ago.
According to hotel sources Dr Giri hasn't cleared a due of Rs 1.19 million that the hotel charged for his food, beverages and telephone bills. "The rooms were, however, provided on complimentary basis," said the source.
Sources said Dr Giri was given three complimentary rooms--two of which were used by himself and his security people from January 31 to Feb 24. One more room was added when Giri's wife, Sahara Giri, joined him after he was appointed vice chairman of the council of ministers. "Dr Giri used suite number 530, which is one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel, and the bill [Rs. 1.19 million] only covers the food, beverage and telephone costs of that one suite" said the source. The rooms were, however, not booked in Giri's name but in the name of Birendra Singh. Singh's identity remains unknown.
General Manager of Yak & Yeti Hotel, Bishowjeet Chakravorty, said he had no comments. When prodded whether he would not acknowledge Dr Giri's stay in the hotel, he said, "I am not saying I won't acknowledge it; I am saying I won't comment on anything related to it."
When contacted at his official residence, Dr Giri was not available for comments. But his wife, Sahara Giri, said she would entertain the inquiry on Giri's behalf. Asked about the due that Giri owes to the hotel, she said, "That's a blatant lie." She refused to comment further.
Meanwhile, Resident Representative of International Monetary Fund for Nepal, Sukhwinder Singh, today said, "We would like to see the committee's report on blacklisting enforced strongly." He was speaking at a Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) function.
Talking to the press, Finance Minister Madhukar SJB Rana, he said, "The bank is yet to clarify whether it was a case of willful default," adding, "It could be a political issue."
The Post on Sunday broke the story of Dr Giri being blacklisted for not repaying a loan amounting to Rs. 17.4 million from Nepal Bank Limited.
