EC to invite parties for poll discussions

Kathmandu, October 5
Stating that preparations for the municipality elections are in their final stages, the Election Commissioner, Keshab Raj Rajbhandari, has said the political parties would be called for discussion soon.

"Implementation of the code of conduct for the elections is now in the final stage and the assurances from security agencies prompt us to claim that the polls would be held in a single round," a report on Wednesday quoted Bhandari as saying.

"The Commission is working on the assumption that all the political parties will participate in the election process as they have not formally informed the EC of their stance," the report further quoted Bhandari as saying.
