Dear Readers and Contributors:

I did not realize that my boring "Friday Syndrome" will accumulate this humongous amount of Art/Cartoon fanatics out here in Sajhaland.

Sorry guys...!!! My "Friday-Syndrome" slightly drifted me away from our fav. Sajhaland, for the time being, but heyyyy, what a reward!!! You all guys make my Sunday a Sunnyday....

Wowwww... Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. That is why I always say "Respect Every Aspect Of Life." I came to know many secrets and details of Calvin & Hobbes (thanks to Sitara and Sona) along with Munch to Van Gogh. You guys have quite a collection. The comical version of "Munch" and "Manet" of "Sona" and "HP" are hillarious ones. Nirman, I would say-"Pricelss..!!!" to your artistic ability- 'cause you know we need 100% strong will to achieve something.

Lord have mercy on my curious soul!!! I would say, MR-LC-HP-IF-Nir are the "Renaissance People" of Sajha. How come guys: what are your secrets???

Well, too much.....

Anyway, guys, "Happy Vijaya Dashami and Dipawali..!!!" And not to mention, may the victims of earthquakes rest in peace...!!!!

HD

Now I feel like I am in an art museum. Apparently almost everyone in here have taken, Living with Arts - Intro to Arts 1009, 501, 109, as the case may be.

99% of the pics are from that one course book.

Reminds me of . . .

I needed one more general course to add to my bustling schedule, and I was told the course is easy. I was like, okay, maybe I would learn how to paint or something, you know. I went to my class the first day, with a bunch of white sheets, pencil, a medium textured canvas, filbert brushes, a white apron, a palette knife, no, not to stab someone, but to mix colors, and other knick-knacks. ;-)

All right - not really. You got to be an idiot to believe that.

Anyways,

little did I know that we are supposed to learn how the art was created, what those art meant, what they expressed, their history, artists - their biographies, and eras that they represented, and all those jargons i.e., neo-classical, renaissance and shit.

And there went my dream to be Picasso, Van Gough, Paul Cezanne, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Van Dyck, and so on and so forth.

But as the course progressed, I kind of got a hang of things, and started to actually enjoy the knowledge that I gained, the intricacies of arts. And for the first time since then, I actually felt, whoa, so many people with such a fine taste in arts. Hahahaha. ;).

Otherwise I have seen people enjoying paintings of bollywood celebrities on theaters earlier, and posters of brad-jolie, in U.S. That is an art too. Is not it? Hehehe.:)

For me, everything that is not science, has to be an art; presto!

I did however write two papers on Picasso and Van Gough though.

I do not have a picture of one of my favorite painting (maybe if I google it, pachi garchu), which to me reflected more meaning than many others. Although I reckon there are quite a few version of it, one among them kind of expressed more so than others.

And oh yeah, Calvin and Hobbs is one of the most entertaining cartoon. Calvin makes me chuckle quite often. A smartly written dialog is the essence of these two characters.

Oh yeah, I love Garfield too. What a life that piece of shit has! ;)

So long,
IndisGuise :)

That's from the Qing dynasty. Portrait of the Emperor Kangxi. Probably a European, most likely an Italian artist painted that.

Now here's one for Sitara.. Its a famous Ming dynasty painting "Poet on a mountain top" now in a museum in the US.

Here's Manjushree by Late Siddhimuni Shakya, Nepal's famous Thangka painter. He was probbaly one of the last "dixya" payeko Newar artist of the valley. His paintings are the most authentic Thangka paintings you will ever see. And you'll have to make some $$ before you can add one of his paintings to your collection. No wonder he is famous all over the world. Let's cebertae our artists too. Does anyone have pics of paintings by Shashi Shah, Uttam Nepali, Amar Chitrakar?
