Cherie Blair, wife of British Prime Minister Tony, has provided an insight into the couple's movie-watching habits when she revealed that her husband is a fan of Hong Kong action superstar Jackie Chan.
Speaking on stage at the 2005 World Diversity Awards in central London on Wednesday night, Cherie Blair told fellow guest Chan: "I have to say the prime minister is a bit of a fan".
"He tells me that 'Rush Hour' is his favorite," she said, according to London's Evening Standard newspaper on Thursday.
The 1998 film paired Chan, 51, with loud-mouthed American comedian Chris Tucker as cops who form an unlikely partnership to rescue a diplomat's daughter from Hong Kong gangsters.
Cherie Blair seemed well acquainted with Chan's work, saying she preferred "Around the World in 80 Days", a 2004 remake of the Jules Verne novel of the same name set in the 19th century, co-starring British actor Steve Coogan.
Her opinion is in contrast to that of critics, who slammed it as one of Chan's weakest films, as well as audiences who largely stayed away.
Chan was recognized with the diversity award as a global role model and for his charity work.
While Chan may be the world's most popular martial arts star since Bruce Lee, he does not relish a chance at Tony Blair's job, however.
"I saw him in the congress (parliament) and all that talking -- I can tell you I don't want to be prime minister," Chan said
