If you are a Canadian citizen or a US citizen you dont need a visa to travel between these two countires. US Green Card holders are not US citizens so I guess you know the answer.

just go to the American Falls, jump off of there and swim to Niagara Falls, Canada and thats it! J/K It takes 1 to 2 hr drive from Buffalo, US to Ontario, CA 5 to 6 hrs from Long Islan, NYC to Toronto, On, why would you need visa for such a short distance..and I thought people in American didn't need visa to visit Canada.

You do need visa if you want to go back to the USA. I have heard of people (esp. South Americans residing as illegal 'aliens' in the US) who come to the border from the US to file a refugee case in Canada. If you are not intending for a रिफौजी thing, then you do need a visa ;) Keep rolling...

You could easily get in to Canada. You need your Green Card and Driver License to get back in USA but from 1st Jan 2006 you will need passport to get in Canada n' come back to USA. This is manditory for all US Citizens and Permanent Residents. Have fun.

You are exempted from Visitor visa to travel to canada if you have US Green Card. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.html scroll down to the end of the page to see the exemptions... Good luck.
