The royalists have quite dominated the online debate, poll and political discussions with outright propaganda. For example, they accused that seven party alliance’s supporters were bought with money to come to the demonstration against the autocracy of the monarch. How can people come to sacrifice their lives in such unsafe environment under the threat of the royal government? This is an awful, disgraceful and dishonor to Nepali people with the notion that they do not care anything but the money.
The world has seen openly how many police, arm-police, and army men were on the street of Kathmandu pointing guns at the demonstrators. This is not propaganda but the fact that UN human rights agents, press and media have observed with their eyes.
Such propaganda that the king’s visit with the common people as shown on the video is the clips of ordinary people who are either purchased or threatened and brought by the local authorities such as chief district officers. These clips were taken in the restricted area of the village where mass media were prohibited to enter. This is how the king’s visits get organized. It is an obvious fact that anybody can understand that the Nepali king needs absolute security to move around the villages of Nepal.
The king and his supporters are trying to use the media for such propaganda. I would say most of the royalists are greedy of power, wealth and position, not only at this time of national crises but from the time of Rana oligarchy and Panchayet autocracy. This is a long time established network how Nepal should be ruled by the privileged elites. They suffered big time last twenty years during Democracy and therefore they blame the politicians the most corrupt.
I would say the most corrupt and outright dishonest person in his profession is the king at this point and time that the political world has witnessed. What brought him to the power was the royal massacre, which was so difficult for people to accept despite how media, politicians and head of the states around the world had to dealt with. In different national occasions, he often said one thing and did something different in dealing with the national crises. That has obliviously outraged the politicians, media, human rights group, civil society and international community. This is not a propaganda but fact that had been observed and confronted by the people of Nepal.
Now the royalists all over wants to fight with media, human rights group, civil society and international communities to crush seven party alliance the most. You have seen how they fight: they call on international community not to interfere our nationalism, they call politicians corrupt, they call human rights group and civil society foreign puppets, and they physically unplug the media from the wire. Often try to justify with illogical and outrages excuses.
One thing it is not clear with the royalists network that whether the king is miss guided by his loyalist royalists or he himself the dominant figure particularly in crushing the seven party alliance, human rights group, civil society and media. Had he gained the trust from these group in the country perhaps it would have been easy to resolve the national crises as a whole. His current agenda with the royalists – army men, police force and ruling elites will soon dig his own hole to be buried for never to resurrect again.
Failure of politicians in seven party alliance and other parties who came in power since 1990 to rule the country was not the corruption but self-illiteracy of the establishment of legislative and executive logistics. For example, they could not decentralize the district administration to rule the districts and villages by the elected members of the party. But continued with the oligarchic logistics to rule districts from the centralized mechanics such as appointing a CDO who comes from Kathmandu to rule remote district like Jumla. Why could not they see the fact that elected district chairman be governor of the district to rule his own district? If they had seen and did not do anything about it then I could say they were corrupt with their own vested interest to use the CDO for their political power.
The working factor of the Democracy is to establish decentralized logistics how to govern homes of people by the people. This means the elected village chairman rules his village with the majority of the village assembly. As a matter of fact, the district attorney, judge, police officer and all local governing body should be elected to administrate the district and villages. The administrative body should be permanent residence of the district. How could a person who is a permanent residence of Kathmandu rule the district of Humla? Otherwise, keep ruling it with oligarchic logistics as inheritance of the loyalist of the royalists.
