See the above link for an instrumental rock song called Civil War (Nepal).

I decided to write this song after a short conversation with this guy. He had long hair and we were just talking casually and when I told him I was from Nepal, he thought he knew a lot about Nepal and said "Oh its a lovely and peaceful country with beautiful mountains and friendly people".

Obviously he got it about 75% right, but Nepal being peaceful? So I decided to name this song Civil War (Nepal) just to create awareness and to practise my skills too. The guitar work is pretty aggressive and matches that of the army and the rebels.

And I am yet to update my profile there. Dont worry about the cover/ acoustic being written on the page. My one-man-band is a metal band with focus on melody and simple riffs. Constructive feedback shall be appreciated.

Wow Mahisasur, a very impressive effort. The music made me feel like I was entering a real war zone. Though I am not a fan of heavy metal, I really like this electric performance.

My suggestion is it could be better if the song was longer and with lyrics instead of just music. A very good effort though.

Thank you for being kind, Shreshta jyu. I have few songs with words related to Nepal and my youth but am looking for a suitable singer. But in the above song, I could not accomodate lyrics as I was aiming for a short song with consistent burst of energy.

I would be thankful to other members of Sajha for their constructive comments. I know there are lots of musicians around.

Thank you all.

Freek, I understand what you are saying when you say death could have been shown in slow motion. But in the song, I was trying to portray the agression, which is not lacking in either the armies or rebels. Besides, when we hear in "breaking news" that fight is still going on in some remote areas and reports are awaited, the picture that plays in our mind is of chaos and bursts of energy, and that is what I have tried to portray. I am writing other songs with lyrics to portray the situation of Nepal.

Nepali nari, thanks for your input. Points noted. Lyrics being written for other songs. As my aim is to create awareness of civil war in Nepal, the lyrics will be in English. And I will be banking on words of mouth to reach to wider audience.

Nas, there are pretty cool songs in your site. Your music was neat without much noise. How do you record your songs?

for the rest of Sajhaites, can anyone tell me a little more about Mahisasur the demon so that I can write what he actually was. For the time being , I have just written that he was a notorius demon.
