This is basically for scam-awareness and some fun as well :)

Remember the million dollar scam from Nigeria ? It is similar to that but they try to prey on people who have put advertisement on the internet like myself.

This "woman" has been in touch with me since past week and was asking me how much I charge for teaching music as her daughter wants to learn music. I emailed her about my nominal charge of 5 pounds per hour. Now this woman wants to pay me 35 for a 7-hour lesson. So far so good. Nothing unusual about it.

But in a bizzare twist of event, now this "woman" wants to pay me 1500 as if I would beleive that:) . 35 for myself and the rest to be handed to the cameraman. What cameraman?

I email her:
Hiya,
But I think I am missing something. Could you please clarify about the cameraman? What is the cameraman for?I have given you my phone. Please contact me through the phone for further arrangement.

Then she writes:
Hello,the cameraman is the one that camera all the occastion that day so the man has to be there ok......
so kindly get back intime for the information of the payment....give yr name, contact address and telephone
and i will give you a call latter ok,

Now I am thinking of wasting this "woman"'s time for fun. I will keep you posted on my reply to her and her reply to that. Meanwhile if someone has any suggestion on how to waste her time pls let me know.

Ohh yaa ... I am also very fond of playing around with these type of scam artists.

I give out all my personal informations to these people. I gave out my Social Security Number and Social Insurance Number (which I created). I'm willing to give out my bank account number as well as credit card number.

What do you think of telemarketers? I have really made many upset in the past. First what I do is ask their name then their phone number. I do tell them in advance if I am going to hear about your product I need to know where and who you are. After I get those info the I give them few second to tell me about what they are calling for. Then I stop them immediately and ask them if they are interested in joining AMWAY and making more money then what they are doing daily. I start taking and don't let them talk even that I hear them. I start telling them about products and prices. Before you know it some might stick around to still talk to you but many will hang up.

I am not sure how she is gonna scam u with just name, address and phone number; but she does sound phony. She might ask for more info later.

But everytime I get email from Nigeria, I tell them how thankful I am that they contacted me. Then I give this name and contact:
Kee Kmah Ash (sounds like kick my ass) (or some other funny names)

That phone number b.t.w belongs to NY FBI office. I sometimes even give them the NY address for FBI.

It is always good go give them 1900 number all sex phone sites.

This is a second case, not related to the first one

This man from Africa is Mr. Peter Kamara and he claims to have 850 Kg of gold which he wants to sell to you. But he wants 25% advanced payment.

So here is my response.

Thank you so much for trusting me so much. I would love to take part in this but I think 25% of advance payment is too much. Is it possible to reduce it to some lower level?
