I could not remain untouched by pictures of injured protesters and even innocents being shot by autocratic forces. Can anyone suggest me any credible website which takes donation to help protest victims? How credible is www.samudaya.org website? Let pray for early peace and democracy in nepal

Another alternative: - www.alliancenepal.org Samudaya has also been raising funds for the same organization. You can get complete detail of the funds status, with a list of donors at the website.

Dc_mitra, All the organizations/websites mentioned above was credible. Not meaning to overwhelm you, but if you want your donation to go to victims outside the Kathmandu valley, you could donate it through SEBS. Here's the link: http://sebsonline.org/ [There is a banner on the top right corner] We have not worked out the details of how to transfer the money yet, but like any other group mentioned above, we do post the names of donors online. Other possibilities that we are exploring include: 1) Providing assistance to people at the lower rungs of the economic ladder whose lives have been severely affected in the last few days, possibly leading to hunger. 2) In the scenario that the money is not used immediately, use the money to provide scholarships to sons and daughters of those who have been killed in the last 14 years of war. The caveat, of course, is that we are still working on the mechanism and it might take a while before the money gets disbursed. If you want your money to reach Nepal immediately and especially for the victims of the ongoing protests, one of the groups mentioned above would be a better choice. Feel free to email me through Sajha if you have any questions. M.P.
