Hello

I am trying to help out my friend who is coming from Nepal on Jan 11. He is coming for Masters degree at USD from Spring 2005. He wanted to know if there are Nepalese students at University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD.

Happy New Year to all Sajha members.

There might be few students. Try to Contact International Office for Nepali student info. If not I know few at South Dakota State University. They might help.........write an email gautampravin@hotmail.com and write for a help. They might be able to help.

Yes, there are about 40 Nepali people in that area. There are about 4 Nepali families living in Sioux Falls, just about an hour away. And SDSU (University in Brookings) has about 35 students. People in that area are now also organizing a Nepali community of South Dakota. If your friend needs anymore help or you have questions, feel free to email.

Dakota is a beautiful country. There are smart and intelligent students purusing higher education. I guess chwank will be able to give the instructions.

chwank143, how is it that i basically know no one from the middle of the US?? Or my question would be do people from your place not have contact with people living on the east coast??? :) But now i know that there are people living in South Dakota and since i know they are a lot and due to the number of nepalis living there i guess it can't be considered "the middle of nowhere" cause for some it might be the middle of everywhere (wink, wink) right chwank143??. i guess now i have to take back that "who lives out there in the middle of nowhere?" question (wink, wink) :)
