Today's mass meeting of the Maoists showed clearly that there is no public support for them. In the Khula Manch, there were about 2,000 people (according to BBC), most of them were the party workers. In this case what could happen to Maoist philosophy and Maoists leaders in Nepal?

Let's assume some possible scenarios. First they accept the cosntituent assembly. There is no way that the CA will make this country a Maoist republic. The king, India and other international forces will not allow that. Even Maoists do not see that happening, which is evident in Prachanda's interview with BBC.

Second, they turn the country a Maoist republic using arms and force. This again will not happen due to international interest in Nepal.

Third, joining multy party system and go for the election. This is likely to be a huge defeat for them as shown by today's mass rally. Of course, they will gain some seats from remote part of the country. But they will be far from being a major force in the parliament.

In this case, what choice do they have? It seems that what they are doing in the last decade is the only thing that they can continue to do and it is the most profitable for them. They will literally loot the money and resources from the countryside and remain powerful in the remote parts of the country. By doing this, the leaders can at least be financially strong and their coming generations will have a better future abroad.
