Samuel Tamrat behind moves to declare Nepal secular
New York, 21 May: Imperialist Christians made heavy investments in declaring Nepal secular, National Janamanch reports quoting S J Shah.

The leadership was taken this time Samuel Tamrat, political advisor of US Secretary general Kofi Annan.

There was no mention of a secular state in the first draft of the proclamation by parliament.

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Prachanda wouldn't have made an issue over it.

Tamrat convinced officials India and Nepal during his fortnight's tour of the two countries.

The Pope has congratulated Annan and specially Tamrat after Nepal was declared a secular state.

I think there were few protests made hither and thither, but i'm not sure if they were made against the decision or against the people who influenced it :(

Nepal is still a Hindu country. Saying Nepal a secular state doesn’t make Nepal secular. Its history of sole Hindu country in the world is hard to erase. Why make so big issue out of this? To all intents and purpose, Hinduism will be here forever. I am confident about it and so are other Hindus.

Grand Design is being hatched to convert Hinduism into Secularism. Actually in Janandolan, foreign sponsors have spend huge amount of money to topple the King–only Hindu king in the world. Christian hi-fi people from religious society of the developed countries are going tooth and nail to convert all asia as a christian continent–like Europe and south America, North America.

Especially former pope john paul was the leader in this cause. You, He, She, They, everyone knows the fact there are many christian missionaries opened in and around Nepal and even in India–why are they here? Are they here to spread message of peace or christ’s Bible, no they are here to proselytize the innocent people into christians.

I have known many poor people who are converted to christian religion in return for money, financial aid for their children’s tuition fees. They are lured into conversion. Mainly people from lower caste and minorities fall victim of them–such as Tamang, magar, rai, dalits, some even Brahmins and chetris, newars. They even attend church when they are unwell in the belief that Christ will cure it.

One of my Brahmin neighbors has turned into christianity–eventhough his mother is purely Hindu and against his son’s way of lifestyle. I even talked to him about it but in vain–he started to glorify the christ and bible’s sayings. I know why he changed his religion? For what–for the sake of better lifestyle. Such is the condition of Nepal. If someone is voluntarily changing his religion, I have no objection but if he/she is doing for the sake of monetary benefits, then I take exception to it.

That is why–now the white elephants (seto Hati) will be more active in fulfilling their plan of turning nepal into christian state within 70 to 120 years and this is where the shoe pinches i.e the leaders don’t want to dissatisfy their sponsors by turning deaf ear to them on the matter of Nepal changing into secular state. This way, maoists will be also happy seeing this change(Samabesi loktantra)–killing two birds with one

Hindu to secular , secular to christian i.e., the idea of f... pope. They have religiously raped Africa in last century its south asia. It is their declared objective. And our so called leaders are happy to be raped for Kurshi. BUT....we should not let this happen.

"Christians are facing a shrinking population in the liberal West. During the past half-century, the critical centers of the Christian world have moved decisively to Africa, to Latin America, and to Asia. The balance will never shift back.

"The growth in Africa has been relentless. In 1900, Africa had just 10 million Christians out of a continental population of 107 million--about 9 percent. Today, the Christian total stands at 360 million out of 784 million, or 46 percent. "

Before he left India, the Pope insisted that the Catholic church had a right to continue missionary work in Asia, saying conversion should be recognised as a human right.

Rome correspondent David Willey: "A heavy security cordon"
Hindu activists protested against the Pope's visit, accusing Catholic missionaries of coercing poorer Indians into converting to Catholicism. They demanded that the Pope order a moratorium on conversions.

But the Pope made clear that evangelisation in Asia remained a priority for the Catholic church in the next century.

ONE thing is sure that most those converted are somehow lured.

I dont care if SAMUEL TAMRAT was behind this however I fully supported the decision to declare Nepal a secular state.

Now this issue is not an issue anymore.

It should be a big issue for all Nepalese. We had not given any mandate to do so.

Amrit Josihi
May be you had not given a mandate to do so but I had surely given so In fact it's a longstanding demand. Even if the HOR had not made it official, secularism was and is the official policy in the Maoist country.
