Does any of you know how to get the username who modified the file lately (Microsoft Office file)?

I would appreciate if you can tell me how to use the system.IO or FileSystemObject to get that value? Or do I need to create an add in to record the users?

Right click on the file and look for properties...

thats gives you only the author of the file, not the modifier.

Using FileSystemObject and System.IO.File, I can easily get the datelastmodified but not the user, help me in this. Any suggestions...

Gajedi Sorry man System.IO.File does not have anything to retrive the author of a document or the person who modified.

If this is specific for word documnet check the Office classes for .Net like Microsoft.Office i havet tried any office classes but you might be able to find some luck there.

I don't think fileinfo has anything that will retrieve the user who modified the file, Its for a visio file and as far as I know I have worked with FileInfo before.
