Two days before moving in, I got a call from my prospective roommate who was trying to beg excuse for being unable to share apartment with me. He was in need of person to share apartment and fixed with me via phone. Later on he got his old pals to stay with him and for that he started cooking things. No wonder, in this huge world I found a classic and sentimental softhearted person to share apartment with. For me this guy is far more trustable than my native pals who kick you when they feel they are secured.

One day in the balcony we were puffing off cigarettes watching at the sky. He started, “The moon is same, backhome also people are celebrating Ramadan and sky is as beautiful as there, but I am distance away”. I could easily sense his longingness for his beautiful wife who he married in his own, against the permission of both families. A cute son has broken the masculinity of a guy. He was too compassionate to talk to his family that he hardly waited a month to get the phone an internet at our apartment.

Today in the midnight, to my wonder, he was crying outside in the leaving room. Just an hour ago, he was talking to his wife and son. He was in a very good mood. In webcam, he was watching his son and wife. Anyone could easily figure out the happiness in other side as well from their face. After all, they were seeing each other in two months. “What happened?” I asked. “Nothing, I am a bastard”, he replied. “What? What are you talking? Are you crying?” I was shocked from his reply. I asked him if everything is okay with his wife and son. “Yes, everything is okay with them but I am not okay” he said. He was not telling anything but was crying and crying. I said, “Okay man, let’s go to kwik trip. I have only one cigarette left. We will buy the cigarette and on the way talk about your problem”.

We left for kwik trip. The weather was chilling outside. It was almost 2:30 in the night. He started telling his story. They were married in 2001 against the permission from both families. In 2002, after he graduated, he got a job as instructor in university. He struggled hard to create a beautiful world in his own. He became a father of a son in 2004. Again, his hope ruined. He was hoping that after birth of a child everything will be fine between the families but nothing turnout. The day he was leaving his country for US, his parents came to his apartment to CF him. He was happy in a thought that things are seeming to better. He started going to school in the late night to chat with his wife. He never missed a day talking to his wife and son. His wife was coming to his parent’s house to use the internet. Today also, she was talking with him from there. Something happened and she started crying. His parents started misbehaving with her. His son started crying. His brother started talking harsh with him.

“Don’t worry. Everything will be alright.” I suggested him to ask his wife to get internet at home and teach her to connect it. “If things still remains the same or you miss them lot then you can call them since you have a GA” I tried to convince. “Yes, but you know, I was the only one to take care of them……..my parents are not human” tears started falling down his eyes again. Meanwhile, he got a call from his wife. He was not happy even with her. He thinks that she is not obeying him. He had suggested him to remain quiet for some time and things will be okay. He seemed to be tired of responsibility at the moment. I could not consider a responsible father and responsible son breaking down. I know he still cares of his parents. I asked him to calm down,” It’s a hard time for you and once you overcome this, you have a beautiful life ahead”.

We passed the ten minutes of walk and reached kwik tirp. He bought a camel light. While returning a bunch of party goers crossed by. One of them asked us to give him bump in his fist. We were wearing pullover and the freak was topless. It was a new experience to my roommate. He said, “What a crazy”. I said,” We are far away home”.
