SAPTARI, Nov 7 - Four hundred and fifteen civil servants of Saptari district Wednesday submitted a joint-resignation stating that the government remained apathetic towards their demands and security.
The civil servants, who were demanding security due to frail law and order situation in the district, were enraged following the murder of Prabhu Narayan Yadav, an employee at Saptari District Development Committee a few days back.
In their joint resignation letter, they have charged the government with being indifferent towards the worsening security situation in the district in the wake of armed groups mushrooming in the Terai.
The resignation letter would be submitted to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala through the Chief District Officer, said Chairman of Civil Servants Association Saptari Dhak Bahadur Adhikari.
The agitating government employees of the district had halted their work for the ninth consecutive day today before tendering the resignation.
Due to the agitation more than 300 schools of the district have been affected while the general public have also suffered considerably.
