It seems like yesterday when I was with my beloved looking forward to a brand new year i.e. 2007. And now the year is coming to an end, and with it another chapter in my life will come to a close. How time flies! When I reflect upon this year's events (both good and bad) I realise that I've learnt alot from the various experiences that I went through. I found out the power of true love; what truth really means; what is dharma all about; why peace is so important and how I should practice non-violence in my thoughts, words and deeds. Just when I thought I knew it all, life teaches me another lesson. Love is sorely tested by distance. The nights become cold and lonely when your loved one is not by your side to keep you warm and secure. That's when I begin to realise how important it is to cherish your loved ones. Because sometimes life has a way to taking them away (temporarily or permanently). So, I've learnt not to take anyone for granted but instead to appreciate them for who they are. Everyone who comes into our lives, has come to teach us a particular lesson. Now, another new year is coming around the corner. What lies ahead, only God knows. If I have learnt my lessons well, than I'll be able to sail through with minimum mistakes. But life is full of surprises. Who knows what's waiting for me around the next bend on the road? But I can't turn back because this life is a one-way street from birth to death. I have taken an oath not to make the same mistakes. The lessons learnt will keep me alert so that I'll avoid any stupid mistakes. I'm learning how to be aware of my surroundings and my intimate thoughts. My resolves will be to first and foremost, maintain good health. To ensure there is peace and harmony amongst my loved ones. To lead by setting good examples. To refrain from finding faults. To practice generosity for the needy. To live with love in my heart for one and all. To pray that the Almighty Lord will bless this world with peace. And may the Lord bless everyone with good health, long life, peace and prosperity, love and harmony. What goes around, comes around.... View/Share this post only
