Hey guys i have seen some nepali people having really good english accent even though they have been here just for 1-2 years. If you guys are one of those lucky ones. Please let me know how to improve mine.

Upadharya: Make friends with American people atleast in your class or work , talk to 'em and learn what you've done wrong in pronounciation. No wonder nepalese don't have good accent because they are always with their own friends speaking their own language.  Don't be afraid that they will ignore you since you are immigrant. Try to talk 'em as friend and you'll find the best friend ever. They are hard to make friends but if made, they will never deceive you. Believe it or not.

I hope you meant American and not English(British)

1. Make a conscious effort everytime you utter a word of english ...

2. Google it out, and there will be lots of websites that will help

3. Socialize(or try to) with Americans

Might reduce your natural accent, obviously will not eliminate it altogether...

 

Yes i will try but as i dont drink, dislike bars, pubs, or parties its hard to be a good friend with an american. Coz i see most of their plans revolves around these things. So i dont know what to do. I think i speak error free english ,just want to make it better.

there is nothing wrong with our accent. it will improve in long run but you might have some experience having them understand your english. I think we always get replies with sorry, what's that?, pardon  etc. thats because of our accent. so ...............dont need to say...........
