Padma Jyoti, a cabinet minister under UML 9-month government and father of Rup Jyoti, a cabinet minister under direct rule of Gyenendra is appointed in the constituent assembly by Maoist. Similarly, Rajendra Khetan jasko bau NC ko netai thiye ek patak, is appointed in the CA by CPN-ML.

Seems that these businessmen and industrialists can purchase any leaders of any political parties paying these leaders some "moto rakam" and in turn these Jyoti group, Khetan group, ... will take advantages of their accesses to government and political leaders and finally will themselves become jhan jhan "moto". Sachikai rajniti garne ra dukha payeka janata/karyakarta of these political parties and naagrik samaj ka aguwa lai kehi na kehi, kahile paune chance? Parties ra leaders haru kati sarai bikeka hagi business community ko support ra kehi donation paune aasha ma?

Padam Jyoti started economic reform under former King  Gyaynandra( look at that years budget) . He is a Havard Graduate in economics and in my view is the only one who is able to guide Nepal to economic prosperity.

Mahat brothers are the culprit of Nepalese economic condition.

"He is a Havard Graduate in economics and in my view is the only one who is able to guide Nepal to economic prosperity."

I am guessing you are talking about Roop Jyoti. Just because he is a Harvard grad, are you saying he is a reformist? And do you know it took him 14 years to get his PhD?

I think you are talking about Padma Jyoti, he is the elder brother of Dr. Roop Jyoti, who was the finance minister under the government of former King Gyanendra. One nominated by the Maoists and other by the Monarchy, extreme left and extreme right. One is a graduate from MIT and the other from Harvard.

fortunefaded's point about Roop Jyoti taking him 14 years to get his PhD, is point which should make everyone wonder why would Harvard, a pretigious university, allow someone to complete his PhD in 14 years? Maybe its got something to do with his qualification and experience. During the 14 years time, he ran for Mayor of Kathmandu (off course, he didn't get elected) and started one of Nepal's larget factories, Jyoti Spinning Mills.

I think the Maoists nominating Padma Jyoti, should make you ask why? In the last few years, the Maoists have bombed the Jyoti's Factory site in Parwanipur a couple of time. Especially the bombing of Jyoti Spinning Mills which made headlines all over Nepal. And heaven knows, how much they got in donations from these people.

Most businessmen are educated people, a little money minded but aren't they a better choice they the current lot who have been elected to, not run the government but to write our constitution, our future. In the name of secularism and federalism, aren't we sacrificing quality for quantity?

Whoever was finance minister in EX king Ko Palo ma . The reason I said is, I was on Kathmandu and I know a thing or two about Economics. His budget was certainly better than those of NC.If you can find a copy of his budget and compare it to the rest , his has lot of credibility. That What I think  and you don't have to agree.

This thread is complete BS. I would not pay a penny to be a member of such CA where the decision is made by 3 leaders sitting in a room and CA is just a rubber stamp. No furthur arguement.

Why worry about these industrialist being in Party, Unite is always better. It is part of their ECONOMIC REFORM.

You can not appoint Bhartmohan in that position, I think they are in right track. Just holing PH.D degree ( mahat brothers) does not mean much more if some one has the experience as well educational knowledge.
