Jamie, Duncan and Ross are talking about their ages. Duncan realises that his age plus Ross's age is a perfect square. Ross notices that his age is an exact multiple of the sum of Jamie's and Duncan's ages. Surprisingly Jamie's age multiplied by Ross's age is a perfect cube. What are their ages?

(1, 1, 8  is not correct answer as 1 year old Duncan can not realise such things)

one of the answers might be all three are of same age i.e. 8

For Duncan:  D+R= 8+8 = 16 =4*4
For Jamie:    J*R= 8*8 = 64 = 4*4*4
For Ross:      16= 1*(8+8) = 16

there might be other answers also, but this answer came first.

if answer was to be 8, 8 , 8; in that case, Ross's age can not be exact multiple of sum of Jamie's and Duncan's Age.
8 = (8+8)* Integer ------> Mistake

Answer is not right.

In fact, there is only one answer if we are to assume that there age is less than 100 and not considering the one I have mentioned in the first question.
try if you guys can and if you want.

Parbatya is wrong. Duncan + Ross is not perfect square.

Hemu!
To add to OcRam's last equation, Ross age has to be divisible by the sum of Duncan and Jamie ages for your solution to work and still meet the conditions provided in the problem.

OcRam!
do you have any other such math trivia you wanna put forth?

Mr Hyde, OcRam,

I hope if you go through it. It is divisible exactly by 2.56.  You might have confused with the decimal number. If you go through it, it is exactly divisible by 2.56.

       Ross = z * (Jamie + Duncan)

or   64 = 2.56 * (8 + 17)

explore it............

OcRam ,

The question has not mentioned about integer.

so ,

        Ross =  y * ( Jamie + Duncan)

  or, 64 = 2.56 *(8 + 17)

Check this out.  Rather then going traditional try exploring.

That's what happens when a wanna-be lawyer tries to solve a basic mathematical problem.

In Math, when you say 'x'(dividend) is divisible by 'y'(divisor), it leaves no remainder and the quotient is an integer.
