CA committee proposes compulsory military training to all adult citizens


A CA subcommittee under the National Interest Preservation Committee has proposed for compulsory military training to all adult Nepali citizens, Kantipur daily reported.

The subcommittee headed by UML lawmaker Rabindra Adhikari on Monday finalised a concept paper on National Security and Nepal Army with a provision of compulsory military training and service for two years to all citizens above 18 years of age.

The concept paper, however, has proposed exemptions from military training to those not interested in the training due to religious or faith related reasons. They will be employed in alternative service to the nation, according to the concept paper.

Such provision would address the issue of social inclusion being raised by various ethnic communities and also enable the state to mobilize all citizens for national security when need arises.

We can create a small professional army equipped with modern infrastructure and technology after we introduce a provision for compulsory military training and service, reads the report.

The subcommittee has 11 members including conflict resolution specialist Indrajeet Rai representing the Maoists, retired brigadier general Gopal Singh Bohara representing the UML, Jagdish Nar Singh KC representing Nepali Congress and Atma Ram Sah representing Madhesi Janadhikar Forum. nepalnews.com May 19 09

i don't care about you but about me i got no wish to bring my ass in the military thing i am a human ..i am not an animal ..i live for me and moreover they say its compulsary ...why don't they make it compulsory to go to college and schools why don't they make it compulsory to get at least a primary education ....by all the citizens ....that's why it is disgusting ..at least Nepal was land of peace once upon a time ...i don't want to see it as a IRan or israel

And there will be so many things on the top of the list that should be compulsory rather than a military training..The only thing I see is that those fagots don't have a right thing to do so they pick up a issue to talk and make an agenda out of it which is freakin senseless...Give all of us a break, U morons..
