Hi friends. I had my comp infected by virus and upon numerous unsuccessful attempts to install free anti virus programs, I decided to install xp ( over vista ). Now that I've got XP installed, the problem seems more confusing than ever. First, none of the windows pages open. msn.com opens and when I click on "download" msn messenger, it says that I'm not connected to the internet. The same thing happens when I try to google norton or mcafee. I get a bunch of sites listed but upon clicking them, the page doesn't open up. I've had some success in other fronts such as downloading skype and yahoo though. Could someone englighten me on this matter please?

I would do a clean reinstall of vista. Make sure you back up your data, then format your drive with vista. Next install AVG free and runscans. If you had vista present you could use Easy Transfer App from windows that protects the data even if you format the drive. I m not sure if this works with XP. You should be all done. Installing XP over Vista isnt a solution if you have viruses somewhere in another partition. Hope your computer works...
