as a sentence you can use Defamed or ruin. examples mike defamed(ruined)(badnaam) his family's name by committing a crime. this will definitely defame(ruin)(badnaam) his political carrier if you go on TV you will ruin(defame)(badnaam) yourself.

tregor, you corrected us but didn't care to think badnaam could be noun as well. Tyo manchhe yesto kaam ma badnaam chha: The guy is notorious for this kind of job. The point is, the original poster should have clearly stated the use of the word by giving an example. Noun or adj, question sodhne ani gayab hune??
