What are the criteria? if anyone has some similar experience please share :) What about those whose F1 is expired? and Is it possible to Extend F1 while on OPT from mexico or canada? or they have to go throught the entire process again from Nepal? If you are already graduated... why do you want to extend F1? or why don't you think of going to Grad school so that your stay automatically extends?
If you are on OPT and with ChemE and want to continue staying here... PLEASE don't go anywhere... (unless you are going to grad school?)
I know what you are thinking ;) it's too late for that..

never ever go outside US to extend your F-1 visa while you are on an OPT, it's too risky.
another thing is, if you are done with ChemE, why do you need F-1 extension? go get a job and start making money! if you are planning to go to gradschool, then wait until you get I-20 from gradschool. once you get it, go to Nepal and apply for visa extension. i know going to Canada or Mexico is cheaper but it's a lot of hassle. plus, since you're a ChemE, you'll soon start making good money so don't feel bad about spending 1-2k.
