 I don't know if this will solve your problem but you could explore transferring to different school either in the US or in Canada.

Again, I aint a lawyer or anything like that, but am trying in here to help you out with some two cents of mine.

I hope you by now you know how to apply for reinstating and all that (or just google!!), there are certain forms I guess you have to submit to USCIS with a valid letter written by you explaining the unique case of yours. Your school must suffice letters on your behalf to make your case compelling. Basically, USCIS is a bunch of stodgy people, mostly (as I heard bored Asian immigrants working there!) who just go by rule but yet some emotional flavor might do the trick at times.
Again, you gotta be genuine and not genuine as well. You do not have to talk to them about you working on SSN or getting caught in some beer or prostitution scandals. Shits happen just like how they say stuffs happen. This is America, a better place than Nepal to get engaged in all sorts of shits you can imagine!
Just talk about your above average GPA, show them the friggin proofs of your transcripts, that letter from school stating your misery (lack of permission letter or etc,) and the consequence because of that, I am pretty sure that you will get it through.
Do not talk about working illegally or some untoward scandals (which all tend to get to when their demons are downing some 5 hour energy shots!
But, be advised, working "illegally" i,.e in USCIS words, (but will it ever be illegal to work to feed your stomach, never got that seriously!) or getting caught in any scandals (when friggin every American has some skeletons in their closets) might create some problems when you are on that confounded line to get that darn green card, but if that is not your motive as of now, damn my words of caution and my big potty mouth.
