One of the most basic problem that people generally have is their pre-occupation with the general trend in society.

You always want to the same thing that people think is the definition of success. You want to base your intentions to fulfill the expectations that society has built up after decades of marketing, solicitation, adaptation all based on greed of a group of people who want the best for themselves at the expense of others.

In order to get over this effect you need a paradigm shift from your own desires which is a subset of the decades old definition of success. Only after you have truly overcome the fetters of the society then you can truly be liberated and happy from the inside as a person who has escaped the need to fit into others' category which they believe blindly in.

It is never an essential quality to have an intention for living. You were thrust into this life as a chance phenomenon and for you to categorize yourself into a divine or human designed structure of success will only lead to inner feelings of dissatisfaction.

As the great lord Buddha taught us, expectation is the root of all disappointments, and for you to live according to others expectation only pushes you deeper into the mire. You are a free soul with as much capacity for happiness as you can imagine. But instead of choosing to appreciate this beautiful chance gift of life, you seem to be embracing the unneeded pressure and tension.

I hope you will break away from your own and society's bondage of expectations and success and choose to be complete on your own sense and sensibilities.
