Now when king is taking a bold step to do something go ( as he has done so far), why the hell do you gotta be india?s bitch again. China favors us and is ready to help us in each and every field to develop and end terrorism. Why don?t you get it? India is alway behind our land and one thing i don?t get is why the hell you gotta be kissing india?s ass over and over again?.. At least for once in your life try and do something good for your motherland and support the king for now?? please??..

I have few opinion of my own on this topic. First, time is different now. Absolute power is viewed in negative way in this world. We are in 21st century. But the problem is Nepal is in 18th century. Most of the population in Nepal is uneducated. We are poorer than the poor. We have no resources. Country can't function without foreign aids. I don't blame these politicians being corrupt. It is very natural for humanbeings to be drawn towards money and power. In Nepal, people goes into politics to earn money and get power. Nothing else. So in this situation what other option do we have. We can't trust politicians. So King seems like a better option. He may be corrupt, etc. but he has responsibility of the whole kingdom. Politicians come and go but king is always there. People can always blame him. He has a huge responsibility towards the common people. But at the same time, people involved in party-politics will always critisize the king on his every move. It is simple: his every good move will be viewed as a bad move for politicians. That is as simple as that. Secondly, China is much better option than India for Nepal. Politically, China is not as involved in Nepal as India is. Indians will always try to dominate Nepal. History tells us so. As China is developing so rapidly, we should tag along and have China invest in putting industries in Nepal. Then may be we can finally go in the path of development. No matter who says what, India is and will always remain third world. So I support King's move to support China.

China won't be able to be any better ally than Nepal. We're in 18th century so we can't have democracy. We've to prepare for democracy by totalitarian systems for couple of centuries so that we can get back even to 16th century by then. Yea, we definitely can blame king, that's why there's now new ordinance not allowing any1 to speak anything not only against king but also against his whole family. Political leaders are much better coz' they won't be able to impose restriction to speak against them and to find out their mistakes. Atleast people will know their (leader's) mistakes by printmedia and eventually they'll also realize their mistakes, and sooner or later the system will be improved. There're numerous examples of these cases during democracy. I'll cite one example, last year (even after partial hijack of democracy), KTV showed CDO of Birgunj (Khatiwada) going to the restaurant getting drunk and speaking shit, and all kinds of low words. The ministry took immediate action against him with suspension order. Everyone was glad for that action and people thought his career ended. But then we got so called more democracry n' better era after Feb. 1 takeover. Within a month, a cheque was sent for his salary during his suspension period, and now he's enjoying at the ministry office. The irony is that I learned this development also through kantipur pub. There'll no more features like this on TVs or print media, and obviously we're preparing for democracy. We've a Legal system where king n' his family can never makes mistakes (it means that we can't point their mistakes, ,they'll never realize, they'll never be punished). But political leaders who did corruption can always been punished and will come to light on public's eyes.

It's so shameful that people like so called "MURDA Shanti".

For last 14 years or so, what has this so called politicians have done? All they did was work for their party. Their interest is only on their party. So what if we have/had free press. What good will it do to a person living in Dadheldura, or Dang? Yeah people in Kathmandu can watch the news in color TV... but what about the whole country? Life in villages have gone from bad to worst. Who have thought about these? All the politicians, once they come to kathmandu, forget about their villages... They buy 2 anna jagga and build a house... thats the end of that.

Democracy doesn't mean a thing to uneducated, poor people. To get the value of democray, first we have to educate the citizen. We need job. The focus should be on employing our people, rather than giving "democracy" to politicians. Once people have enough to eat, then they can think and speak up. Democracy comes with more responsibility. People needs to be educated on that first. Otherwise it is like giving a child a gun... Bandar ko hatma nariwal....

Yea, that's what everyone thought n' became glad after king's royal takeover. But things are much clearer to public now that he just wants power and nothing else. We'd much more development during democracy than any time. Do you know anything about nepali budget Mr.w..? Learn how n' on what was it spent during democracry era compared to now.

The main issue now is terror that has ripped the country. Let us all work towards eradicaiton of the terror that exists in the lives of the people then we can decide the type of rule that is good for the country.. my 2 cents

We don't want to remove this terror by replacing it with another terror.

gwajyo,

Lets analyze the scenarios rationally than just to complain. You said it was better off during the democracy but then the whole world economy was growing. There was not much maoists problem. 9/11 change the direction of world economy to recession. The carnage in the palace made it worse to Nepalis. The Nepalis companies started losing businesses. The tourist arrival dipped and also world lost confidence on Neplis economy because of poltical uncerainity. This was with the econmy as general.

Now lets look at the poltical scenaios. the morons in the form of parties were fidghting with each others and were too naive and visionless just to think about their financial benefits and power. It was Shere wos dissolved the parliamnet and he was not able to hold election. Girija questioned the constituality of CIAA which was formed by parlaiment when they tried to probe him. What makes him above constitution?? Admist therse scenarios, morons hande the power to the king. When was the voice of the people heard all this time?

Now the power is with the king. There is a civil war in the nation. There are three forces. Right wing king, left wing maoshits, and democratic force that should be the balanced approach to these. All the three are trying to get into power or maintain power. If you analyze logically, if the king steps down from thrwon, then maoits will come to power. The poltical leaders do not have support and capablity to come to power. They need to obtain power by developing lost trust. First step will be kicking out all the corrupt leaders and helping with the probe.

Lets llok at the king now. Why will he give up the crown. He will be there till the last moment.

I see the best option is the threeway comprimise. Leaders to work on filtering out corruption. Maoits most of the legit demands be fulfilled and they must give up arms and king back to constitution. Next scenario could be decided by the mandate of the Nepalis.;

I hope this make sense to you. Do not be so naive.

peace out

Completely agree with gwajyo.

There are 2 Nepals. Inside the valley and outside the valley. The problems in the exist today due to the total disregard of all regimes (Ranas, Shahs, Koirala, etc) towards the outer Nepal. So people took up guns. I dont blame them. There is only so much sh1t people can take.

Tommorow when others might need to demand their rights and try to draw attention to their plight, what will the government do. Will the government be afraid of the people and their anger and try to fulfill the legitimate demands or willl the government send out the RNA (or Peoples Army) to cut them down.

We need a government that it scared of the people. It it the duty of the people to keep the government in check. Lessons learned the hard way.

So lets support a government based on these criteria.
This is all idealistic bullsh1t anyway.

The root of what?? The sociocai problem? The economic problem? The political problem? The ethnicity problem? There are too many problems in Nepal (who doesn't??) Lets talk about one problem at a time. I have seen "blame game" played here in Sajha quite a lot and lets see what you have to say..

I don't agree with you here..what i agree is that we should have a Govt who has a BODY that represents the PEOPLE -from
EYES - that do not close when things are going wrong
EARS - to listen to evryone
HEART - to care for all
MIND - to sort the good from the bad
Hands - to Support all
FEET - to lead people to the right direction
FACE- to promote us to the world not degrade us day and night
BUTT- to excrete all the bad shiiit
MUSCELES- to lift us from MISERY
and A common sense to BE COURTEOUS ENOUGH TO THANK US FOR CHOOSING THEM TO GOVERN US!!!!

Highfly, I agree with your scenarios and there's no doubt that only the compromisation of three forces can save our country. This is primarily because we don't want to look for fourth force or we're too scared or we're too much attached with either of existing three forces. I don't know about maoists. But for political parties, even if u kicked out reknowned corrupt-politicians. The other ministers or leaders are still going to come back with different names. The problem lies in our system, and ofcourse on our minds. It's agreed that stepping down of king doesn't look good scenario. But what do we've to fear? Where will we reach if kings of Nepal continued to act weirdly?

Shiv, we've all these forementioned problems n' infact who doesn't. Do you think america doesn't have any problems? Have u watched any of movies when one person made the difference and change the whole perspectives about some rules in the west? What happens when new discovery is made every time? Regarding our case, we've to analyze ourself rather than doing so called 'blaming game' as pointed by u.

Instead of saying ...Puppy's saying what should be done, first we've to realize whether i'm also responsible for that mess. It's very easy to tell others what's right or wrong and what should be done. But it's too much hard for us to tell ourself, that I did wrong too, and I should do this n' that too.

Think honestly. What can we do ?

Frankly speaking, I dont think we are in a position to say anything about anything right now, We have to give the present government a chance to see how he does, I cant say right now whether he is just power hungry bastard...or really there for the people.

Gwajyo...can you elaborate on the difference in nepali budget expenditure???

dc, the budget in nepal are mainly divided into 2 types, simple administrative (salaries for all teachers, employees, security, administration, palace), and developmental (health, education, irrigation, urban n' rural development projects n' all other developmental projects). The first part is nothing as it's only the administrative cost; the budget spent on developmental projects is what's going to affect the nepali people's lives. But after king's takeover, almost of all of budget are being spent for administrative purposes (in the name of palace n' security). So, we're getting really worse n' worse. The public money is being spent without any name (bina sirsak ko budget haru dherai badhi rachha according to newspapers). So it's obvious where the money is being spent. We blame politicians so much for their misdeeds (on some contracts or other kinds of bribes) whereas king is being accounted for all the credits because we never get to know about his and his compnay's wrong deeds. SO definitely, we should give present regime more chance so that we can have silent lifeless peace (murda santi) n' the real development of Nepal (only in gorkhapatra n' gov medias).
