The Historicity of Limbu Ethnic Revival
(Limbu Jatiya Punarothan-ko Aitihasikata)
The talk is based on the findings of the ongoing Research Cataloguing Project conducted by SOAS, University of London. It is a follow-up to a similar lecture delivered by Dr. Dhungel in February 2005 in which he discussed manuscripts in the Hodgson collection related to the Nepal Tarai.
The main focus of this presentation will be the manuscripts relating to the history of ethnic revivalism among the Limbus. The talk will be supported by power point slides of the manuscripts.)

Dr. Dhungel is well-known both in Nepal and abroad, particularly through his outstanding research in Nepali Cultural and Himalayan fields. He has been teaching at TU for more than two decades and is now a University Reader of Nepali Cultural Studies, associated with the Centre for Nepal and Asian Studies (CNAS).
Since winter 2003, Dr. Dhungel has been on deputation at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London as a Research Fellow. His research at SOAS is related to Brian Hodgson?s collection and his contribution to Nepali and Himalayan Studies.
The lecture will be delivered in Nepali.
