Now what? Yes, now what? What plans do the political parties have for Nepal? What if the King ignores this showdown, what if he does not care how many lives are lost in the protest? What are political parties going to do? Are they going to be sending more and more people in the streets and have them killed or do that have a plan? Or what if the King steps down, what if the King calls for all party alliance to form a new government, and what if all this happens tomorrow? What do the political parties have up their sleeves? Are they going to sit together and argue with each other about what kind of government to form once again? Do we know any plans they have? Have they made their agenda any transparent? How about these aged leaders stating their goals clearly and showing their willingness to hand over power to the second generation of leaders? Is this out of their level of competence?
Following the actions of the King after his takeover, if not in the first couple of months but very soon after that, his plans became clear. He did not take control to safeguard democracy but his absolute power. Political parties could have easily taken advantage of this time and opportunity to redeem themselves from their past actions to garner support from people who had already lost any hopes from them. As usual they have always indulged themselves in pointing fingers towards everyone but themselves. They have blamed panchayat, then the Maoists and now the King throughout their political power for their lack of competence. Not once have they acknowledged their failure, let alone apologize. So what are they going to do now?
It must be a catwalk for Maoists into full power once the King is out of sight. I wonder if the political leaders have realized this and the threat they pose towards democracy, yes the same democracy Gyane snatched away. And what plans do they have if Maoists take control of Nepal? And if Maoists are all good, what plans do they also have as they seem to keep changing them like a chameleon would do with its color?
Don't get me wrong here. I am not for any group but democracy, and definitely not the kind of corruption and lies filled democracy the 7 political parties represent and we had for 12 years. I am ready for fresh honest leaders with vision, with diplomatic skills who represent Nepal and is willing and can bring peace. Is there any?????
