There is a very close freind of mine who immigrated to canada recently.We studied together from Grade 6 till Grade 10 in kathmandu.He is a very talented student who got great marks in SLC exam.He was just three months short of completing his grade 12 had he stayed in Nepal.After coming to Canada he went to a local high school. But he could not bear the stress of having to start Grade 12 all over again and study with younger classmates. So he dropped out of high school and started to work in an Indian Store. Then he applied to a local community college and got accepted as a mature student. He will start college this fall.He will have to take some upgrading courses in English and Maths along with the core courses.He is planning to transfer to one of the top 40 canadian or american universities for computer science degree with business administration minor or double major in CS and BA after two or three years in community college.

But he does not know if he will be able to transfer to university or not. Is it possible for him to transfer from Ccollege to university without high school diploma considering he maintains a good GPA. OR is it absolutely compulsory to have a high school diploma to be able to transfer from C.college to university. How big a role does a HS diploma play for transferring to university after 2 or 3 successful years in C.college?Do the universities consider high school report of student transferring from community college?

Now he thinks that he made a big mistake by dropping out of high school.He is very stressed and confused. He can not decide whether he should go to C.college without the HS diploma or go to Adult school, earn his high school equivalency diploma and then go to C.college.He is almost 20 years old now.What would be your suggestion - earn HS diploma or go to community college directly?

Also what sort of courses should he take in community college for computer science degree with business administration minor.

Your advice would really be helpful.
