The Australian Open has started it is hard court and ii am sure roger federer's gonna win it anyway in the mens competition..however in the womens ..nothing can be said although Maria Sharapova is the top seed ..there are other tough competitors on the cicuit like mauresmo, hingis, petrova and clijsters my personal fav Llyeton Hewitt is far from competition seeded a lowly 19th. and 4th seededivan ljubicic lost to a qualifier

There's no match against Federer. However, I'm a huge fan of Andy Roddick. After some early hiccups, he managed to win against the unseeded J.Tsonga of France in the first round. I wish him good luck and hope he puts up better performance this year and wins at least one grand slam this year. It's tough but it's not impossible. Regarding the women's matchups, I believe Maria Sharapova's got a great chance to make it two-in-a-row grand slams, first being the U.S Open. I know there are some quality players like Clijsters, Mauresmo, Hingis, Dementieva and so on who can be a big hurdle on her way but still I think Maria's gonna go all the way. Well, anything can happen but I just hope the first grand slam of the year turns out to be a good one with some quality tennis being played. Cheers!

The first Grand Slam is already in the air! Hmmm..hard surface, baseline ralllies, skin-cracking heat, who could be the contender for the title? With the kind of form Roger is in, I would have to go with him in men's singles. I guess after Sampras, it is delight to watch this single-handed player. Happy Watching!
