The minister, however, did not mention when and where the meeting between the king and Army chief was held.
The cabinet meeting today also discussed the salute given by Nepal Army (NA) to the king during his visit to Dakchhinkali temple recently.

NA said that the CoAS "would not meet any official without the permission of government authority."
'CPN-Maoist, UML in accord to bring in republic, with or without NC'
Kantipur Report
DOLAKHA, April 30 - Maoist leader Mohan Baidya “Kiran” Monday said that the CPN-M and CPN-UML had reached an accord to put forward a commitment paper and announce a republic in the country even if the Nepali Congress was not ready.
He also claimed that if the left parties were to unite and agree in principles then it was possible to announce a republic set up in the country through the Interim Legislature-Parliament itself.
Speaking at a press meet in Charikot, Dolakha, Baidya said that since the left parties had a majority in parliament, it was possible to announce a republic set up in the country through the parliament.
Baidya, stating that after the unison of the left parties even the rightists were seeking to unify themselves, claimed that such unity in cahoots with “royalist forces” and “foreign powers” would be against a republic set up.
He further said that it was near impossible to hold the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections now and that the PM was to blame solely for this.
He also informed that even the Maoists had agreed on UML’s proposal to change the leader of the interim government.
According to our local correspondent, Baidya—while criticizing the Congress—even went as far as to say that the NC had conspired against the Maoists and planned the Gaur incident to “wipe them out” from Terai.
Congress and Maoist leaders trade charges
Amid deepening distrust between the two major coalition partners of the current interim government – Nepali Congress (NC) and the Maoists – senior leaders of both the parties, on Monday, intensified blames at each other for the current impasse.
NC vice president Sushil Koirala warned that continued lack of discipline by the Maoists could trigger civil war in the country. "Sometimes they carry weapons, sometimes they take out rallies. What happens if the Nepali Army, too, loses its discipline? There will be civil war," Koirala said at a programme organised by Nepal Peasants Association.
Speaking at the same function, Congress general secretary Kul Bahadur Gurung trashed Maoists' demand for immediate republic announcement. He said republic cannot be declared based on whims.
He also accused other parties for showing double standard. "This is the government of all eight parties. But why is NC singled out to share all the blames?" he asked.
In a separate programme, NC leader Sujata Koirala warned that if Congress, too, lost its cool, democracy could again be endangered.
On the other hand, senior Maoist leaders, too, intensified their attack on Congress. Mohan Baidya 'Kiran", on Monday, accused NC of conspiring to sweep Maoists away from Madhes.
Talking with media in Charikot of Dolakha district, he revealed that Maoists and UML were preparing to introduce a commitment motion at the parliament regarding republic declaration.
In Ilam, Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' accused the Congress of creating confusion regarding the CA elections.
