Absence of security creating political vacuum in Terai: Minister Sitaula

Kantipur Report

BIRATNAGAR, June 30 - Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula on Friday said that the absence of security had created a political vacuum in Terai and urged the eastern security and administrative heads to step up peace and security establishment in the region.
In a meeting that lasted almost five hours at the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters at Biratnagar last night, Minister Sitaula directed the participants to remain firm in upholding the rule of law, a participating police official informed.

The meeting was attended by the regional heads of the Armed Police Force and the Janapad Police as well as Chief District Officers of the eastern districts.

“The absence of peace and security has created a political vacuum in the Terai,” Minister Sitaula said, adding “While you must allow those on your way some space, you must also not fail to mete out strong action against those breaking the law.”
