Two big industries close
POST REPORT
HETAUDA, July 2 - Two big industries in Hetauda, an industrial hub, closed down due to incessant bandas and subsequent shortage of raw materials, said concerned officials. Mahashakti Soap and Chemical Industry and Everest Polymer Industry pulled down their shutters after failing to withstand the shortage of raw materials. Other industries, too are on the verge of closure within two or three days, stated Makawanpur Industry Association (MIA) on Monday. Colgate Palmolive, Manakamana Biscuits, S Packaging are among those industries cutting their production volume due to deficit of raw materials and problems on exporting products.
“All industries within the industrial area will be closed if vehicular movement on the highways does not resume within two or three days,” said Rishi Ram Ghimire, vice president of MIA. Deepak Shrestha, president of Makawanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), said exports from the district will further dwindle in the coming days if the situation does not improve.
