                   ONE OF MY FRIEND WHO IS WORKING WITH ME HAS BEEN SELECTED IN H1B LOTTERY. IF YOU HAVE DONE PREMIUM PROCESSING AND HAVE BEEN SELECTED THEN YOU LAWYER MUST HAVE RECEIVED EMAIL FROM USCIS.

Any news update for those normal processing H1B applications?

My application was normal (no premium) and this is what my lawyer emailed me:

USCIS is currently issuing receipts/rejections.  They stated that all receipts should be dated no later than June 2, 2008.  As soon as we have specific information on your case, we will let you know, but unfortunately, until we have either the receipt or the rejection, there is no way of checking the status.

They are only sending email to those who have done premium and have been won the lottery. For regular processing they will notify them through mail.This is one of the advantages of doing premium.

I have not done any premium processing and i am scared to death .. Dont know what gonna happen.

I had it both. One company did a premium and other was regular. Still, its something to be scared about.

But how did u, MN Nepali  applied from 2 places.. and why .. Now your case will be delayed because they will find the duplicate copy and will return that without refunding yr filing fee and than only will go for furher procedures .. In the press release i read that if people do not get receit on time than their case are still pending or so... Dont know much though..

Siwani you can file double from two companies. You cant file two from a single company. I paid the second out of pocket and told them that if they get my H1 approved I will transfer upon which they will refund my money. If I don't transfer they get to keep the processing fee.

I have done Premium process. but haven't got email notification.

I haven't got email notification too though premium with master quota.

I heard that they will send you receipt letter not e-mail

                        Nobody fooled me. I was also shocked when i saw that email. Talk to ur lawyer dude. They are only sending email to those who have done premium.

This spring, when employers flood the U.S. government with petitions to hire H-1B visa workers, those companies likely will have a new convenience -- electronic notification from the Dept. of Homeland Security about whether those applications have been approved.

"We're getting away from snail mail and taking advantage of technology," said Chris Bentley, a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration spokesman, the Dept. of Homeland Security agency that handles the approval process for H-1B visa petitions.

So, rather than employers waiting for weeks to know the status of their H-1B visa petitions, this year they'll likely be notified a lot sooner electronically by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, he said.

The new e-notification system that's being developed should be online by April, when the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services begins accepting H-1B visa petitions for fiscal 2009, which starts on Oct. 1.

I think for both the cases they will send e-notification, but for now since premium is supposed to be fast, they r getting it, i guess after premium is done we'll start getting it too.
