While taking a semester off Do you HAVE to leave the country? are there any conditions where u dont have to enroll and still be here? I am a full time graduate student now and during my last semester in my undergrad degree I had enrolleld as part time student with less than 12 credits with the permission of DSO....is this a one time thing? Please let me know if anyone knows about this or has done this before??

I have seen both of the situtaions. In my case, during my two-year college(undergradaute), I dropped a semester-Fall 2005 and went back to nepal for about 3 months. I contacted international advisor a well in advance. left USA in October 28 2004, and came back janurary 5 2005. Also, during my last semester, I only took 9 credit hours, as that were only the classes left to graduate. I trasferred from two year community college to four year. Now, On of my frd in her undergraduate level didn't take any classes and she was here during her whole time. However, she showed a medical condition and obtained a letter from doctor. The International advisor agreed and she was able to maintain her status. ....So I think if u can show a valid reason as why you cannot attend the college, You should be fine.
