Hi everybody,

Does Blackberry curve 8330 work with NTC prepaid cards? I want to send a cell phone to nepal and I got this phone. The person who is selling it is asking for $80. It is in good condition. Is it worth buying? By the way, it is not worth buying for me if it does not work with Nepal Telecom GSM.

Waiting for your expertise comments...
Thank you..

Thanks naya nepali for your reply.

Blackberry 8330 uses CDMA technology and I am not sure whether it supports GSM technology or not.. If somebody knows about it, it would of great help.

Thanks.

If that blackberry uses cdma then i'm sure it wont work with ntc, or mero mobile. Try finding a phone from t-mobile, or at&t and make sure you unlock it or you can easily unlock almost any phone for cheap in nepal. But, as for cdma, it wont work with ntc at all. I hope you can find some other phone. Best of luck.

Thanks Pirka,

What about  blackberry 8830 world edition? does it have to be unlocked for it to work with NTC GSM, or is it already unlocked? Does anybody know about this?

Forget about cdma, and gsm for a while. Basically, if there is a slot for a sim card by the battery then it should work fine with ntc. and dont worry about unlocking it...you can unlock it in nepal for 100-200rs. Also, if its world edition then it should most probably be unlocked and should work fine with any carrier using gsm ie, ntc. Hope it helps.

dude.. NTC has two different services for mobile phone,

NAMASTE - for GSM services; 9841 as its prefixes for prepaid

SKY - is for CDMA services, i believe it starts with 9849
