Hi friends,
I know there is a bunch of people here in sajha who are from Europe, could possible help me out. I am trying find a job in Europe. Any country as long as it is in West of Europe. I am an IT professional, and would like a job in my field. Could someone with information tell me how hard or easy it is to find a job in Europe? Salary is not much of concern.

Gham pani if u wish to get a job in western european country ..the first and foremost thing u can do is master in these languages 1) French 2) German 3) English if possible spanish too.
Now the question of getting a job directly from Nepal is if not impossible then somewhere near to it. my advice to u if u r not currently in Europe is get an admission in a university ,at the time u are doing ur courses try to learn the languages, now with a university degree and languages in ur hand u can move on frm country to country for a job and its not that hard to find one .

Good luck

Thanks sense and matrixrose. Currently I am in US. With your advice, I will certainly learn at least one of the western european languages.
Matrixrose, I will send you my CV; I will need to update it, and once that is done, I will send it to you as soon as possible. And also, you put (hope a good one) after IT professional. Does that I mean I need a lot of experience? I have a bachelor's degree with two years of experience so far.

umm am not quite sure i agree with sense for france( no offense !! )..am in france and have been job hunting since heaven knows when within france and other EU countries..the main problem is not learning languages, as long as you speak english ( yes even in france in the IT industry)...if you have experience and seem like an intresting candidate i think you would find a potential employer, i have loads of south indian friends who are IT experts who dont speak a word of french but have managed to find remunerated internships which eventually metamorphasise into jobs in french as well as other multinational companies..but the question , us being nepali ,is not of finding an employer who ll want to hire you, it consists rather of whether the government of the country in question issues work permits in your industry..i know that in my case, it doesnt and that is why theres no point trying as long as these countries dont change their policy..

i am told by many HR officers all over europe( who woulda very much want to hire me but cant because no work permits for non europeans since the enlargement of EU since 2002) that it is only specialised professions such as doctors, nurses and engineers etc that are given work permits.. i do not in any case mean to put you down but my advise to you ( for france in particular) is to look up the work permit scene before applying for a job to avoid any future dissappointments..or if possible contact an IT company in france ( or the country you want) directly and ask their HR personnel if they can give you some insight to what the situation is..

wish you all the best

Thank you very much. I was looking more towards Switzerland. Do you have any idea how job market is over there?

gham pani, i would say that the situation, legally speaking, should be more relaxed as in comparison to here since they are not a part of the EU but again , i have hardly any insight for me to advice you, i dont know whether eastern EU citizens have the legal right to work in switzerland.. all i can say is that my applications there were refused..they did not precise for what reason unlike the scandinavians or the brits or the irish who bluntly said that they could not hire me because of the tedious administrative procedure..but again i dont know maybe , the swiss too are afraid barrage of eastern europeans flowing into their country ( in this case non europeans would not have much of a chance) or otherwise, the swiss will closely study your profile and if they think you re intresting well you might have a chance..but my eternal advice : call them directly and ask instead of trying to acquire info from indirect sources or look up on the internet .. judge on what you yourself have seen/heard.ppl speculate too much of negative info..and sorry for not being much of a help
