Here are some questions I am thinking about (not sure about the answers):


1. Everybody talks about the Rayamajhi Commission Report. But months after its competion, what has stopped Nepali press from getting a copy of that report and simply publishing it online for the world to see and read?
Surely, with a bit of persistence, getting an official document in Nepal should not be all that difficult, no?
I mean, why wait for the government to make the report public? Why not scoop it out?


2. Who really represents a typical middle-class Nepali family's interests in today's interim Parlament? Certainly, not the Maoists. Nor too the eight parties. Not the monarchists. Who? If you were to look at one specific
MP (presently in the parliament), and say "s/he represents my interests" in specific terms, can you name anyone specific as s/he pertains to you?


3. In Afganistan, the king was toppled, making way for the communists to take over. In Russia, the king was toppled, and the communists (Lenin) took over. Is that sort of history repeating in a slow motion in Nepal?


4. Prachanda and Babu Ram claim to be people's representatives. But they are NOT in the interim parliament. In fact, they pull strings from outside of
the Parliament. What does one make of Nepali politicians who exercise an enormous amount of visible political political power by NOT being a part of the interim Parliament? In which other country such displays
of external power are even allowed?


5. With the poor joining the Young Communist Leagues, and the rich leaving the country for immigration abroad, what's a typically middle class family do in Nepal these days?

विशाल र्‍याली हुँदै नागरिक सभामा सहभागी बनौँ


विश्व नै चकित तुल्याउने पोहोर सालको १९ दिने ऐतिहासिक जनआन्दोलनको वर्ष दिन पुगेको छ। यो अवधिमा निकै महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि हासिल भए - शान्ति छायो, राजतन्त्र निलम्वनमा पर्‍यो, माओवादी व्यवस्थापिका संसद र अन्तरिम सरकारमा सहभागी भए।

तर - संविधानसभाको तिथी घोषणा हुनसकेको छैन, राजा र जनआन्दोलनका दमनकारी माथि कारवाही भएको छैन। मधेशी, जनजाती र अन्य सिमान्तकृत समुदायको प्रतिनिधित्व र पहिचानको माग पुरा भएको छैन। राजनीतिक अन्यौल र अस्थिरता कायमै छ।

उपलब्धि ठुला छन, तर चुनौतिहरू बाँकी नै छन्।

यस परिप्रेक्ष्यमाः

· शहिदको वलिदान र आन्दोलनको आदेश र उद्देश्यहरूको स्मरण गर्न,

· गत वर्षका कमी-कमजारीको समीक्षा गर्न,

· र भावी दिनमा लोकतन्त्र र शान्तिको लागि खवरदारी गर्न।


वैशाख ११ गते २ वजे वसन्तपुरमा विशाल नागरिक सभा हुँदैछ।

· वैशाख १० गते ५ वजे वसन्तपुरमा जनआन्दोलनको झझल्को दिने फोटो प्रदर्शनी, कवि गोष्ठी र ६:३० वजे भिडियो फिल्म प्रदर्शन।
