the supposedly "best ever" must be gritting his teeth for his dream of winning all four grand-slams in a year went in vain yet again. :P

what seems to be like a piece of cake in hard/grass court for federer is a different ball game in clay. if the player of roger's caliber finds it hard to win consistently in clay, which seems more true after today, there must be something more than what we normally think of the legends bjorn borg and agassi-- they have earned more respect from my side for sure. :P

Claiming hard/grass surfaces as a piece of cake itself is a baseless point. Please do appreciate 'goodness' rather than finding weaknesses. If you do that, I bet you'll be more of a happier person.

4 wimbledon
3 australian open
3 US open

and ZERO french open.....to his name.

doesn't it look like federer is naturally more comfortable playing in hard/grass surfaces?

the way he dominates game in hard/grass surface, it looks like he's made for the show. not so in clay though....and although he might break the shackle of failure in clay court in future, as of now, it's a scar to his otherwise scintillating career and a blemish to his pursuit of being the best ever.

Hehehehe, digging again just to find a stroke of mis-matched color in an otherwise a 'perfect' picture which you could hang on your wall and enjoy its beauty for the rest of the life.

.he he he!! I was more than 100% sure that I will see flip flop and LooTe posting in this thread. I used the "left handed player" just to make sure that I will see flip flop's posts in here. I know she loves left handed (so do I) ... and when we talk tennis and don't see LooTe, it is next to impossible, haina?

I am not that good in statistics, so I googled it again to find out if I can get something to talk in front of experts.

Roger Federer is the two time finalist in French Open and has lost to Rafael Nadal in both occasion. Can we take it as Rafael Nadal is Clay court expert and he is the best in recent times instead of saying Roger Federer is weak in Clay Court? To be a finalist itself is a big achievement, haina ra?

as always what do I know (O:
(thanx thapap, you have this nice phrase with you always)

I WOULD HAVE REALLLY LOVED TO SEE FEDERER WIN BUT AGAIN THIS WAS'NT HIS YEAR..NADAL WAS THERE TO STOP HIM ..ANYWAY FEDERER IS ARGUABLY THE 2ND BEST PLAYER IN CLAY(BUT WE CAN SAY THE SAME OF NADAL IN HARD COURTS HEHE) AND I STILL THINK HE CAN WIN IT NEXT YEAR...HE WILL CERTAINLY BE WORKING ON HIS CLAY COURT ..WITHOUT THE FRENCH OPEN HE WILL BE ANOTHER PETE SAMPRAS RATHER THAN THE 'BEST EVER'.

.

Quite a bit of strategy there huh Camo but this time Nadal's graceful play won over me to put few words right here. He is indeed an awesome player when it comes to clay. Counting days for Wimbledon now. :-)

Have a good evening!

LOL camo!
nothing to take away from fedex, but the record as of now shows ZERO french open title to his name no matter how many appearances he makes in the final of the roland gaross. i am sure he himself is more concerned than his critiques/fans about his not so successful record in clay court. :D

Roger federar is the best tennis player ever and it will be seen when he ends his career. Regarding french open, he isnt bad at all. He is better than all but one. It's just Nadal is too good in clay court. Much regarded pete sampras was pathatic at clay court. He lost to many players ove the years.

It is not the question will federer wins the french open but when will he win this grand slam. I believe it is just a matter of time.
