Starting the fall of '08, everyone(meaning those studying in the U.S.): your fees will go up by a minimum increment of $5 for each credit you take in a semester, as assessment fees to your credit classes. This plan is on the works and will be approved by all universities in the US, students approval considered? A BIG NO!
State government and Board of Regents for Higher Education have approved this to go into effect, effective of FALL 08.
What does this mean to us? This is fees, not tuition, so if u are in-state, outta state or a citizen or a greencard holder, it will come out of your pockets, thats $60 more for a fulltime student, more if you are taking more classes. Students graduating until summer of '08 will not be charged. I asked Board of Regents why they were doing this, simple- there isnt enough money for state funded universities to pay for administrative costs!
I will post more as soon as i get my interviews rolled up to present for the article i am writing.
