If you search most colleges and Universities you will find prominent graduates. Student X has a 2.5 in Nuclear Electrical Engineering and student Y who has a 3.0 in Swimming Pool Management both study hard except student X also volunteers in the community for his scholarship, works a part time job to survive . Whereas student Y just studies and plays video games in his dorm room. The bottom line is Student X has more on his plate and still maintains a 2.5 GPA. let me ask you...Who would you choose to be in your chapter?

higher GPA does not equal intelligence. i would go for 2.5 student. in the real world, its adaptabilit and vision that wins. grades are ultimately about how good of a test taker you are.

First of all, I don't see why that is a dilemma. Dilemma is a situation which requires you to choose among equally bad choices. In this case, niether of the two, at least to me, looks like a bad choice. Ya, true. Higher GPA does not equal intelligence, but that does not mean that lower GPA does. You have to look for what kind of person you want in your chapter. If your chapter is in probation, and you need to raise the average gpa of your chapter before you can reinstate it, you definitely want to get the person with the higher gpa.
