Everytime I logged on SAJHA, all I can see is anger and humiliation for ARMY and POLICE. Most of us think they are uncivilized, merciless, cruel and bloodthirsty.and everyone is blaming them.

But, just imagine if you were in there place what would u do? Before we go into this topic, first we shold know their background. They r not fighting for FCUKIN ROYALIST but for thier food. OK Ok its so easy to say WHY NOT LEAVE JOB? but what next if they do that? who is going to feed their family, what about their old paretns and children in remote part of country?

.Amazing bro, I agree with you 100%. We all have to understand that the nepali police and army, epically the lower rank have the difficult job to do. They are the one between this battle and most of them are suffering a lot so we all have to think twice before using any harsh word against them.

Absolutely right, newguy bro!!! We people stay in cozy apartment here in US n Europe and shout 'WHAT THE FCUK IS WITH THOSE POLICE' but never try to understand how they might be feeling. Everyday working 24 hours, putting their lives at stake every moment, Working (?) whole day, going from city to city, eating nothing, spending whole night in fear (if they get time to sleep), getting orders from SUPERIORS, stones from unrest crowd and what do they get in RETURN? just 56 dollars a month... My god, Life is so tough!!!!!!!!!

I think after the 19 days of riots, vandalism, Nepal is destined to go through Famine.....esp in Kathmandu....Feel sorry for lower ranks, and hang King, SPA and Maoists to death.....they did it....

. I have a good friend of mine in the Army. After we finish our high school, he could have come to US or Aus and live the easy life like us however he choused to join the Army. To me that is the most Patriot thing to do and I salute him for his courage. I don't know how corrupt our army or police is, but the army and police we see in street are not part of that corruption. Those poor guys work 24 hour some without having food or water. Doesn’t matter who dies, we all have to think that they all are nepali fist.

I have a similar story Newguy007:

One of my Army friend was deployed to Rolpa few years ago. One night, when they were patrolling, they rounded up 10-15 maoists...and the worst thing was, they were raping two girls in a hut...turn by turn.......My friend and their batallion were able to kill 7 of them, and some got hurt, but escaped. He carries the picture of those 7 dead maoists in his wallet, all the time....I asked him, why do you carry their pics instead of your wife's or your parents for that matter, and he replied......" It reminds me of my job.....my duty to this country....I didn't kill any innocent lives here..they were raping those poor girls. It keeps me strong..it keeps me going."

Then, and there I realized, army are one of us. They carry rifles, but they are driven by humanity over anything else...If I was in that situation, granted I would not have a rifle, being a civilian, but I would not have my hands tied seeing innocent girls being raped....I would have done something too...

It sounds like a fiction, but agree or not, these things happen everyday in Nepal..esp in remote villages.

f**k the maiost.
Army boys and police are just doing what they are order to do so.
ORDER is the biggest principle in the armed forces.

What we need to do is know who is the top brass for RNA and Police who are giving insane orders like shooting at the crowds and so on?

the above is YOUR opinion. And I fully agree with that. Coming Tuesday, I will have no sympathy to those who will stone them and who might get killed in retaliatory actions from the RNA or the police. THAT was my opinion !!!

I will be never ready to KILL to feed my family.
The problem is not that they have difficult job, the problem is they are brainwashed to believe they are doing the right stuff. That is right for police but Army I believe has different frame of mind. They believe their quality of life will suffer if this protest is a success.

There is also a sense of general amnesty among security forces because of what happened after the transition from Panchayat to multi-party democracy in 1990.

I think the problem of feeding families constitute very little to present scenario, at least at the moment. Well, again this is just an opinion.

but u have no proper education that might allow you to do something else, plus there is the lureness of being dressed in combat etc etc......so even if they are not brainwashed, they have to follow orders that comes from 'above'.
i do think it ultimatley boils down to making enough money to send back to your family, to pay rent, to educate your chidlren..nabhaye hy would anyone want to lead a life like that? may be they are patriotic and may be they love the country....but even for this police and army soliders, their family, their chidlren, and personal life comes first, just like us.

I reckon the compulsion one feels about "order from the above" is a part of brainwashing. I understand your justifying family needs. There is no two opinions about it. If that is the way it is justified by the armed forces, fine. But what do YOU think about that? To what extent one should go to protect his family and what if everyone goes to the same extent? All I have to say is when I see myself in their positions, I feel I won't do it. But again I am not in their position and perhaps I would never know.

I agree most of the time, the army and the police have a difficult job to do. There are those who abuse their power and take advantage of their uniform but many of them are I think very frustrated by what they have to do with litle support from family and general public.

the thing is polices use bullets and beat up the protesters and more and more start hatin 'em because polices are killing all those breaking rules. And I dont think thats wrong at all, why go into the streets when curfew anyway? Army and polices are right. Gyane has to go down and free the power. SPA's are tthinking to become the PM of nepal and rule Nepal but thats never gonna happen because after all this egts done, each of the SPAs will fight to become the PM.. so I guess its in the people's hand to choose a PM but they can only go into streets and protest, they cannot make deicisions, well I wouldnt blame them, there isnt such "person" desvere to be PM of Nepal right now.
