Worrying about our finances has become a religion in the media these days. People compete on who is more worrisome about money. Its almost as if fretting about money is the sign of being a 'responsible adult.'
As individuals, every person has a different need for money. The pursuit of money serves as a help as well as a hinderance in being satisfied. It all depends on how aware we are of our unique needs and aware of the different ways of making money that suits our nature.
It's so easy to lose perspective over all the talk about all the doom and gloom of the financial sector and economy. Be financially prudent but please don't just blindly join the cult of monetary paranoia. Take your personal values and your own needs for satisfaction into account.
I have heard the money gurus and evangelists preach, but I don't believe that there is an absolute right or wrong answer. Below are some of the things that I have been seeing and hearing in the media these days about money. I've exaggerated it for some fun. See if you agree or not. In the least it may help ya to be more self-aware so that you can plan for your needs accordingly.

My only measurement of success in life is the amount of money in my bank account.
The amount of beauty I enjoy in nature is directly proportional to my salary and job position.
The love and care I have received from the people I respect has increased with my income.
The more money I have made, the more stress free I have become. Increase in money and stress are directly proportional.
My market value is my only sense of value and self-worth. I am not worthy of respect without it.
Time is money - The more money I have the more time I have to do what I love.
The more money, the more space I have to be accepted for being uniquely me in my life.
I feel very spiritual when I have a lot of money.
The more money I have, the healthier body I automatically have.

If money is the root of all evil, then Lord make me the vilest creature that ever pranced upon this planet!!

Tweaking Martin Sheen's words from Wall Street a lil to suit my needs: The sucess of a man IS measured by the size of his wallet.

Does the free market corrode moral character?

http://www.templeton.org/market/

This is why we have the middle class in Kathmandu where the girls are getting into 'high-class' prostitution. People will do anything for money these days. If you can make money from it, then it must be good for you.

The more money we have, the more respect we get from the people we respect. Money is the only criteria I need in my community to be respected.
Financial freedom is the only sense of freedom I have.
I wasn't known as a likeable person untill I made a ton of money.
The more money you have, the less pain and hurts you have in life. The ultra rich don't suffer from disease, old-age and death. They never suffer.
